- Restaurant & Events Manager - Hidden River Cabins
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate hospitality professional to join our team as Restaurant & Events Manager at Hidden River Cabins.
Pay is dependent on experience, with a commission/bonus structure available for the right candidate.
This is a key management position with responsibility for the successful day-to-day operation of both our restaurant and our wedding and events venue.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of both sides of the business — from managing a busy restaurant service and leading the front-of-house team, to overseeing weddings and events and ensuring every couple and guest receives an exceptional experience.
This is a hands-on management role. You will lead from the front, manage and develop your team, maintain high standards, deal confidently with customers and wedding couples, and ensure both venues operate smoothly and professionally.

Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Management
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
- Ensure consistently high standards of service, food presentation, cleanliness and hospitality.
- Lead the front-of-house team during service and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.
- Manage restaurant bookings, reservations and table plans.
- Train, motivate and develop front-of-house staff.
- Manage staff performance and conduct.
- Oversee tills, cashing up and daily financial procedures.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure excellent communication and smooth service.
- Deal confidently with customer feedback, complaints and queries.
- Monitor online reviews and ensure feedback is acted upon.
- Build relationships with regular customers and guests staying at Hidden River.
- Identify opportunities to increase bookings, repeat visits and revenue.
Weddings & Events
- Take responsibility for the smooth and successful operation of the wedding and events venue.
- Oversee the hospitality operation on wedding and event days.
- Coordinate front-of-house teams and ensure everyone understands their responsibilities.
- Ensure the venue is prepared to an exceptional standard before every wedding or event.
- Manage the smooth running of food and beverage service throughout the event.
- Work closely with the kitchen and wider Hidden River team to ensure timings and service run seamlessly.
- Deal calmly and professionally with any issues, changes or unexpected situations.
- Ensure guests receive attentive, friendly and professional service throughout the event.
- Oversee the team from set-up through to close-down.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the experience and increase food and beverage revenue.
- Support the wider team with event preparation when required.
Team Leadership & Management
You will have responsibility for managing the hospitality team across both the restaurant and events operation.
This will include:
- Developing a strong hospitality team.
- Training staff to deliver consistently high standards.
- Setting clear expectations and managing performance.
- Motivating the team and creating a positive working environment.
- Ensuring staff understand the importance of excellent customer service.
- Identifying training needs and supporting staff development.
- Leading by example and being hands-on when the business is busy.
Guest Experience
Exceptional hospitality is at the heart of Hidden River.
You will be responsible for ensuring that every guest and every wedding couple receives a memorable experience, whether they are visiting the restaurant for lunch, staying in one of our cabins or celebrating one of the most important days of their lives.
You will:
- Maintain consistently high standards of customer service.
- Ensure guests are welcomed warmly and looked after throughout their visit.
- Build excellent relationships with customers and wedding couples.
- Deal professionally with complaints and difficult situations.
- Monitor customer feedback and online reviews.
- Identify opportunities to continually improve the guest experience.
- Ensure the same high standards are maintained across both the restaurant and events venue.
Developing the Business
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply maintain the operation but wants to help it grow and improve.
You will work closely with the owners and management team to identify opportunities to:
- Increase restaurant bookings and repeat customers.
- Develop new events, promotions and experiences.
- Improve quieter trading periods.
- Increase customer spend through excellent service and well-planned initiatives.
- Improve operational efficiency.
- Develop the reputation of both the restaurant and events venue.
We want someone who brings ideas to the table and is confident taking responsibility for putting those ideas into action.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced hospitality manager with a strong background in restaurant and/or events management.
You will ideally have experience managing teams and delivering high standards within a restaurant, hotel, wedding venue, events business or similar hospitality environment.
You should be:

The Person
We are looking for someone who really understands hospitality and understands that the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
You will need to be able to manage the different demands of a restaurant and a wedding/events venue, often at the same time.
You may be managing a busy lunch service one day and overseeing a large wedding the next.
You need to be someone who can plan ahead, stay organised, remain calm under pressure and lead your team confidently.
