About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, professional and customer-focused Car Delivery & Collection Driver to join our vehicle operations team.
The role involves preparing vehicles for customers, delivering and collecting hire vehicles, and ensuring every vehicle is presented to a high standard. You will be responsible for checking the condition of vehicles before and after each hire, taking clear photographs, and providing excellent customer service throughout the handover process.
The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have excellent attention to detail, and understand the importance of presenting clean, safe and well-maintained vehicles to customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Preparation
- Collect vehicles from our locations, suppliers, customers or other designated locations.
- Check vehicles before delivery to ensure they are clean, presentable and ready for hire.
- Carry out basic vehicle condition checks, including fuel/charge level, mileage, tyres, lights and general condition.
- Ensure the vehicle has the required documents, equipment and accessories before delivery.
- Report any damage, faults, warning lights or other issues to the Operations Team immediately.
- Ensure the vehicle is cleaned and presented to a high standard before every customer delivery.
Vehicle Delivery
- Deliver hire vehicles safely and on time to customers at agreed locations.
- Carry out a professional vehicle handover with the customer.
- Explain basic vehicle functions and relevant hire information where required.
- Complete the required customer and vehicle documentation.
- Take clear photographs of the vehicle before handing it over, including photographs of the exterior, interior, mileage, fuel/charge level and any existing damage.
- Ensure the customer is satisfied with the condition of the vehicle before completing the handover.
Vehicle Collection
- Collect vehicles from customers at the agreed date, time and location.
- Carry out a thorough visual inspection of the vehicle upon collection.
- Take photographs of the vehicle after the hire, including the exterior, interior, mileage, fuel/charge level and any new damage.
- Record any new damage, missing items, excessive dirt or other issues accurately.
- Report any issues to the Operations Team promptly.
- Return the vehicle to the designated company location or prepare it for its next stage of operation.
Customer Service
- Provide friendly, professional and helpful service to every customer.
- Represent the company positively at all times.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding delivery and collection arrangements.
- Handle customer questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain a smart and professional appearance.
General Duties
- Follow all company policies and vehicle-handling procedures.
- Drive company and customer vehicles responsibly and in accordance with road traffic laws.
- Complete delivery and collection records accurately.
- Keep company vehicles, equipment and keys secure.
- Maintain good communication with the Operations Team throughout the working day.
- Assist with general vehicle movements and operational duties when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Previous driving experience.
- Good knowledge of UK roads and navigation.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
- Comfortable using a smartphone to take and upload vehicle photographs and complete digital checks.
- Physically fit enough to carry out vehicle inspections and general vehicle preparation duties.
- A professional attitude and strong sense of responsibility.
Desirable
- Previous experience in car hire, vehicle rental, vehicle logistics, delivery driving or the automotive industry.
- Experience carrying out vehicle condition checks.
- Knowledge of vehicle damage identification and reporting.
- Experience using vehicle inspection or fleet management apps.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and checks.
Working Hours
Working hours may vary depending on customer bookings and vehicle movements. The role may include:
- Weekday and weekend work.
- Early morning or evening deliveries and collections.
- Flexible working depending on operational requirements.

Pay: £12.71-£22.34 per hour
