Part-Time Packing & Dispatch Assistant
Location: Syl’a’Vie Studio, Clapham Junction - london
Hours: Monday–Friday, 11am–2pm
Pay: £15 per hour
Position: Part-time, self-employed
Syl’a’Vie is a growing independent fashion brand specialising in handmade, made-to-order clothing. We’re looking for an extremely organised, reliable and detail-focused person to join our studio team and take responsibility for the final stage of every customer order.
This is an important role within the business. As each garment is handmade to order, you will be the final person checking the product before it reaches the customer, so accuracy, presentation and quality are essential.
Our daily parcel collections take place from 3pm onwards, so all orders due to leave the studio must be correctly checked, packaged, labelled and ready beforehand.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Quality checking every handmade garment before it is packaged
- Checking for any marks, faults, loose threads or finishing issues before dispatch
- Making sure the correct product, colour and size are being sent for each order
- Becoming familiar with our full product range so you can confidently identify garments and spot any order discrepancies
- Folding and packaging garments neatly and consistently to our brand standard
- Creating and printing customer shipping labels
- Carefully checking customer names, addresses and shipping details before purchasing or printing each label
- Understanding that every shipping label has a cost to the business, so mistakes must be avoided
- Carrying out a final cross-check between the garment, customer order and shipping label before sealing each parcel
- Ensuring parcels are never mixed up, incorrectly labelled or sent to the wrong customer
- Making sure priority and time-sensitive orders are identified and dispatched correctly
- Keeping our order tracking system on Notion accurate and completely up to date
- Processing customer returns and exchanges
- Preparing replacement and exchange parcels
- Flagging any quality issues, missing products or order discrepancies to the team before dispatch
- Keeping the packing and dispatch area organised and fully stocked
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Extremely organised and detail-orientated
- Punctual and highly reliable
- Naturally careful and methodical
- Someone who double-checks their work rather than rushing
- Confident taking responsibility for accuracy
- Able to work independently and manage daily priorities
- Neat and precise when folding and packaging clothing
- Comfortable using computers and online systems
- Familiar with Notion, or eager and able to learn it quickly
- Keen to learn our products and become confident identifying our full collection
- Able to spot small quality issues and understand when something should not be sent to a customer
- Calm and focused when managing multiple orders at once
- Someone who takes pride in getting things right first time
Previous experience in fashion, e-commerce, fulfilment, packing, dispatch, quality control or warehouse operations would be highly desirable.
Because this person is the last checkpoint between our production team and the customer, we need someone who understands how important it is that every garment and parcel leaves the studio perfectly presented, correctly labelled and completely accurate.
Hours: 11am–2pm, Monday–Friday
15 hours per week
£15 per hour
There is also potential for this role to develop into a full-time position in the future. As the role grows, additional admin responsibilities may be introduced, including helping with customer emails, responding to social media DMs and supporting other day-to-day e-commerce and customer service tasks.
To apply, please submit your CV and answer the application questions provided so we can learn a little more about you, your experience and why you think you’d be a good fit for the role.
