H G Gladwell & Sons Ltd was established in 1912 and now manufactures and distributes a range of pet food and pet related goods. These products are in bags or boxes, which weigh up to approximately 25 kg.
We are looking for a new member of the team for the commercial department, this is 9.00-15.00, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Anyone interested please apply.

Position reports into: Commercial Manager
Contract: 30 hours per week
Job Purpose: To assist in the ranging and ordering of stock from internal and external suppliers in order to fulfil the sales in stores, wholesale and on-line.
Job Description: To be responsible for execution of administrative and clerical duties associated with the buying function. This should be done in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Placing orders for stock to meet future sales working closely with the Assistant Commercial Buyer and Commercial Manager
- Placing of all orders into the System and communicating with all relevant stakeholders
- Confirming suppliers have received purchase orders
- Monitoring and managing supplier deliveries, including chasing up outstanding/late purchase orders
- Update goods inwards into the System
- Any other stock related ordering/delivery tasks
- Resolving supplier delivery problems, including short deliveries
- Answering supplier/customer/branch/warehouse queries
- Assistance in the monthly promotional programme by ensuring instocks of advertised lines
- Allocations of store stocks on Sage
- Setting up new suppliers and item codes into the System
- Listing new products onto online store
- Maintaining master data standards, including listing of new products in line with set standards and price changes
- Performing all administrative tasks within the Commercial department.
- Establish and develop relationships with suppliers
- Flagging Price Book edits and assisting in the producing of Price Lists and Brochure
- Using customer buying and sales data to identify trends and spot opportunities
- Manage telephone calls internally
Essential Skills required:
- Strong attention to detail skill
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- An inquisitive mind, wanting to understand trends as well as identify them
- Excellent problem solving skills and uses initiative
- Computer literate able to use email, Word, and Intermediate Excel skills.
- Some experience in Retail/Purchasing systems would be an advantage, ie, SAGE
- Is comfortable working to deadlines and in a fast paced environment
- Familiar and comfortable with numbers and naturally curious to analyse them
- Must be flexible to work overtime if required

Pay: £10.93-£12.81 per hour
