Overview
Roann is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of low silica, porcelain and quartz worktops, supplying major housebuilders and contractors across the UK.
We are looking for a reliable and quality focused QC / Loader / Edge Polisher to join our night shift production team. This is a varied, hands on role at the final stage of manufacture, helping to make sure worktops, splashbacks and upstands are finished correctly, checked thoroughly and ready for despatch.
The role would particularly suit someone with previous experience of polishing quartz, granite or marble, although edge polishing training can be provided for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspect and measure finished worktops, splashbacks and upstands before despatch.
· Check finished products against required quality standards and identify defects or issues before release.
· Carry out edge polishing and finishing using appropriate equipment.
· Assist with the safe handling and loading of finished worktops ready for despatch.
· Report quality, material or equipment issues promptly to the relevant manager.
· Work closely with production colleagues to meet daily targets and despatch requirements.
· Assist other production areas when required.
· Maintain good housekeeping standards and a clean, safe working area.
· Follow all Health & Safety and manual handling procedures.
What We’re Looking For
· Previous experience in polishing quartz, granite or marble is preferred.
· Edge polishing experience is ideal, but training can be provided.
· A strong eye for detail and a genuine commitment to quality.
· Confidence measuring and checking finished products accurately.
· Hard working, dependable and comfortable working in a fast paced heavy lifting manufacturing environment.
· Able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
· Manual handling training is an advantage but is not essential.
· No FLT license is required. If required training will be provided
· Must be able to travel to and from our Wakefield site independently.
