Are you an experienced hospital pharmacist looking to develop your expertise within Oncology and Haematology?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our specialist Cancer Services Pharmacy team. You will work closely with patients throughout their treatment journey, helping them understand their medicines and ensuring they receive safe, effective and personalised pharmaceutical care.
A little about the role
As a Clinical Pharmacist within Cancer Services, you will provide specialist clinical pharmacy support across our Oncology and Haematology services.
You will spend time within clinical areas, building strong relationships with patients and multidisciplinary colleagues. From reviewing medicines and screening chemotherapy prescriptions to supporting admission and discharge, you will help patients feel informed, reassured and confident in their care.
You will also support dispensary and aseptic services, contribute to education and service improvement, and participate in the Pharmacy on call service to maintain safe and timely access to medicines outside standard hours.
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Pharmacist within Cancer Services, you will:

Deliver clinical pharmacy services across Oncology and Haematology to support safe and personalised patient care
- Screen and final check chemotherapy prescriptions to ensure treatment is clinically appropriate and prepared safely
- Provide medicines advice to patients, carers and clinical teams to support informed treatment decisions
- Lead medicines optimisation during admission and discharge to maintain safe and coordinated care
- Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve treatment outcomes and patient experience
- Support dispensary services through prescription screening and final checking to maintain safe and timely medicines suppl
- Contribute to aseptic services and chemotherapy production to maintain quality and Good Manufacturing Practice standards
- Participate in audits and improvement projects to strengthen medication safety and develop Cancer Pharmacy services
- Support the education of colleagues and junior staff to build knowledge and promote safe practice
- Participate in the Pharmacy on-call service to provide medicines support outside standard hours
What we’re looking for

Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post registration experience within a UK hospital pharmacy
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A compassionate and patient focused approach
It would also be beneficial if you have:

Experience within Oncology, Haematology or aseptic services
- A postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience
- An Independent Prescriber qualification
- Exposure to stem cell transplantation or advanced therapies

You will join a skilled and supportive Cancer Services Pharmacy team based within the Duchess of Devonshire Wing, working alongside pharmacists, technicians, Consultants and nurses to support patients receiving complex Oncology and Haematology treatments.
