Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Childminder's assistant to join our team at Full Steam Ahead childcare. Within my setting you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children in our care which is treated with the upmost importance. We aim to treat all children with respect and care, love and support and compassion and understanding. Duties:
- To build strong relationships with the children in our setting and work as a team with other members of staff
-To work in partnership with all those involved with the children, speaking with parents/carers during drop off and collection
- Manage daily activities and routines for the children, including writing weekly observations and half-yearly assessments as a team.
- Helping to provide a stimulating environment with learning opportunities through adult led and child led planned or spontaneous activities.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, writing up incidents/accidents if they occur
- Supervise outdoor playtime and help support children on days out of the setting
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Toilet changing needs and nappies are tended to appropriately
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisational skills throughout the day
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting would be preferable, The applicant must hold a level 2/3 qualification in early years education
- Strong communicational skills to guide and engage children in activities
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, practices, policies and procedures
- Fluent in English (written and verbal communication)
- Valid driver's license with at-least 10 months validity
- Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential. Good social skills, working well as a team to ensure the children’s needs are met at all times
-Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
