Higher End Construction is an established principal contractor delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment and construction projects across the North West.
Working with local authorities, housing associations, supported living providers and private clients, we specialise in wet room adaptations, boiler installation programmes, disabled adaptations, void refurbishments, responsive repairs and residential refurbishment projects.

As we continue to grow, we're looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to become a key member of our leadership team.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction professional who enjoys leading people, improving operational performance and helping a growing business reach its next stage of development.
Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operational delivery of our projects, ensuring contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and profitably.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how the business operates, improve systems and processes, support the development of our team and help shape the future of Higher End Construction.
As we continue to secure new contracts and expand our operations, this role offers genuine opportunities to develop with the business and take on increasing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of multiple construction contracts across the North West.
- Manage labour, subcontractors, materials and operational resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Oversee wet room adaptations, boiler installation programmes, disabled adaptations, void refurbishments, responsive repairs and residential refurbishment projects.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure variations are identified promptly and work closely with our commercial support to ensure they are accurately priced and recovered.
- Review operational performance, programme delivery and contract profitability, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and margins.
- Produce monthly operational reports for the Managing Director.
- Support the mobilisation of new contracts and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and building high-performing teams.
You'll be organised, commercially aware and capable of leading multiple projects while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and colleagues.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment or social housing contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of project profitability.
- Experience managing variations.
- Experience managing directly employed operatives and subcontractors.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Black CSCS Manager Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Experience working with local authorities or housing associations.
