We are looking for a kind, patient and trustworthy person to provide companionship and support to an elderly lady living at home with dementia.
The role is primarily about spending time with her in her own home, keeping her company and making sure she is comfortable and safe, while allowing her husband and family some much-needed time to themselves.
Duties would include:
● Sitting and chatting with her and providing friendly companionship
● Helping her feel settled and reassured
● Making a cup of tea or preparing a light snack if needed
● Encouraging simple activities such as watching television, listening to music, looking through photographs or having a gentle chat
● Being attentive to her needs and general wellbeing
● Providing reassurance and a calm presence
● Letting the family know of any concerns or changes you notice
