The Project Officer supports the Associate Director of Capital Development in the planning, procurement and delivery of the Trust's Capital Programme and major Estates projects. The post holder manages a range of construction, engineering, refurbishment and compliance projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards, while meeting NHS requirements, statutory regulations and Trust policies.
The role provides specialist technical advice on design, construction, procurement, sustainability, engineering services and regulatory compliance. Working with clinical services, Estates teams, contractors, consultants and external agencies, the post holder develops project briefs, supports business case development, manages contracts and oversees projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities include budget management, tender evaluation, contractor coordination and ensuring that backlog maintenance, statutory compliance and sustainability objectives are incorporated into schemes where appropriate.
The role contributes to the delivery of a safe, modern and sustainable healthcare estate that supports high-quality patient care and organisational objectives. The post holder will deputise for the Associate Director of Capital Development when required and provide technical representation at Trust project and governance meetings.
