The Role
This role plays a vital part in the heart of our ice cream making process.
It is a key position, central to maintaining the quality, consistency and safety of our award-winning products.
The role would suit:
· An experienced pasteuriser
· Someone with previous food or dairy production experience and a willingness to be trained
· An individual with a strong interest in food production, dairy or ice cream making who is eager to learn and develop specialist skills
· Willing to work alternative shift patterns
Full training will be provided for the right person.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Safe intake of milk from tankers
- Preparing ingredients, weighing and mixing products (some heavy lifting required)
- Pasteurisation of batches of products in accordance to training & standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Ensure adherence to Critical Control Points (CCP) at all times
- Ensuring all raw materials/products are managed and moved in a timely manner
- Assisting with the production and packaging of Ice Cream as trained and instructed
- Working to strict hygiene standards
- Communicating all issues/faults to the production supervisor
- Ensure all records and documentation are completed accurately
- Ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety are always adhered to
- Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety in the workplace are adhered to
- Progression and responsibility available for the right candidate
About you
· Age 18 or above to work in a Factory Environment
· GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths (minimum grade 4/C or above)
· Experience in pasteurisation dairy or food production (desirable but not essential)
· Previous experience in a food or hospitality environment is a plus
· A keen eye for detail and pride in producing high quality products
· Reliable, motivated and happy working independently or as part of a close-knit team
· Values cleanliness, food safety and high standards
· Basic knowledge of food handling, quality controls and production processes or Food Safety Level 2 - or working towards (training provided)
· Flexible attitude, ability to flex with the business needs,
· Enjoys hands on, practical work in a production or factory environment
· Has good attention to detail and understands the importance of consistency and quality
· Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same
· Willing to learn develop and grow with the company
