Overview
As a Tipper Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty tipper trucks to transport and deliver materials safely and efficiently . Your role involves precise driving and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations. This position is days only no nights out. Based in Westbury, Wiltshire but hauling out of the quarries near Frome, no muck-away.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tipper trucks to transport stone and tarmac during the day
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking mechanical components and fluid levels
- Load and unload materials with care, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transit
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered on the road
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with heavy-duty or tipper trucks
- Knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Valid driver’s licence with appropriate endorsements for heavy vehicles
- Current driver's CPC
- A MPQC card would be preferred but training can be given to the right candidate
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for commercial transportation
- Excellent communication skills and a responsible attitude towards safety and punctuality
