In this fast-paced and rewarding position, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to secure the best value, quality, and service for the business. Leveraging your knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and ERP systems, you will help maintain efficient purchasing processes, optimize inventory levels, and support business objectives.
Main Purpose of Job
Direct & Indirect Purchasing
- Manage inventory levels to support production schedules, and use ERP systems to process orders, reducing supply chain risks while maximizing cost efficiency.
- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing all non-production goods and services that support business operations. This includes categories such as services, consumables, logistics, utilities.
Responsibility for Objectives
- Purchasing & Procurement: Placing orders, processing requisitions, and managing the purchasing process using MRP software.
- Order and inventory control: Chases late orders and daily shortage reports. Manages stock movement.
- Supplier Relationship: Discusses improvements and manages
- Source and procure indirect goods and services across multiple categories
- Reduce cost, improve service levels, and mitigate risk.
- Lead supplier selection for indirect purchases, including RFQs, market analysis, and competitive bidding.
- Negotiate in direct contracts, pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and commercial terms.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure procurement alignment.
- Analyse spend data to identify savings opportunities and drive procurement efficiency.

Desirable
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, typically within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Negotiation: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel to meet suppliers occasionally
Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year

Experience:
