Overview:
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer Technician to provide hands-on technical support to our Quality team. This role will work closely with the Quality Manager to investigate, diagnose, and resolve real-world electrical issues arising from PCBs, sub-assemblies, test equipment, and finished products.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in electronics troubleshooting, PCB repair, soldering, and production testing. You will play a key role in improving product reliability by performing failure analysis, identifying root causes, repairing electronic assemblies, and supporting continuous quality improvements across Voltech's product range.
This position will work closely with the Quality, Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing teams to ensure our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose electrical faults on PCBs, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
- Perform fault finding using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and other electronic test equipment.
- Identify defective components and circuit-level failures.
- Support production and quality teams by troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions.
PCB Repair & Soldering
- Perform soldering, de-soldering, and rework on through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) PCB assemblies.
- Replace faulty electronic components during fault investigations and repairs.
- Repair damaged PCB tracks, connectors, and assemblies where appropriate.
- Inspect solder joints to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.
- Assist with prototype builds, engineering modifications, and validation testing.
Test Equipment Support
- Troubleshoot and maintain production test equipment and fixtures.
- Assist with calibration, validation, and verification of test equipment.
- Support improvements to production testing processes and procedures.
- Help resolve issues affecting automated and manual testing systems.
Failure Analysis & Quality Support
- Support the Quality Manager with root-cause investigations.
- Analyse failed products and assemblies to determine failure mechanisms.
- Assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Help identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to products and manufacturing processes.
- Support incoming inspection and production quality activities.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, investigations, and test results.
- Update troubleshooting guides, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Assist with maintaining ISO 9001 quality procedures and engineering records.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, HNC/HND, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic circuits and PCB assemblies.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
- Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital Multimeters
- Power Supplies
- Function Generators
- Experience with soldering, de-soldering, and PCB rework (SMT and through-hole).
- Ability to diagnose electrical faults at component and circuit level.
- Experience working in electronics manufacturing, testing, repair, or engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC soldering certification (IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-7711/7721) is an advantage.
- Experience with power electronics.
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience with production test equipment and fixtures.
- Knowledge of root-cause analysis and CAPA methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
