Sutton and District Training is a post 16 training provider in our 27th year working in the London Borough of Sutton. Most of our cohort is made up of young people with SEND and/or Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Many of our young people aspire to lead independent lives in the future. SDT are seeking the right candidate to deliver and assess a Gateway Qualification in Skills For Independent Living.
JOB TITLE Skills For Independent Living (STEPs) Tutor - Carshalton.
JOB PURPOSE To deliver Entry 1, 2 & 3 Skills for Independent Living qualification.
The candidate will: (Previous experience is desired but not required.)
1. Have relevant experience working with young people with SEND and/or EHCPs
2. Have a good understanding of Safeguarding and Prevent.
3. Have experience in delivery.
4. Have good verbal and written communication skills.
5. Have proficient IT skills.
6. Have good time management and organisational skills.
7. Be willing to undertake additional training. (Assessor awards/AET)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Delivery of the main aim qualification, embedding Maths, English, & Fundamental British Values where appropriate.
2. Delivery of preparation for Adulthood sessions.
3. Monitor learner attendance, provide pastoral support and complete logs.
4. Create and follow Schemes of Work & Lesson plans. Liaise with IQA & EQA.
5. Attend appointments/write reports with/for parents/carers Children’s Services, Virtual Schools & Local Authorities for CIN/CPP/Pep/Progress and/or Annual Reviews.
6. Assist with recruitment of learners and marketing activities where consultations have been received and organise centre viewings and interviews.
7. Complete daily/Weekly and Monthly administrative tasks, as required.
8. Complete Continual Professional Development (CPD).

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
