Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fire Door Specialist, specializing in Fire Door Remedials, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire-rated doors to ensure compliance with safety standards and building regulations. Your expertise will help safeguard occupants and property by ensuring fire doors function effectively during emergencies. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire doors to identify deficiencies, damages, or non-compliance issues.
- Perform remedial works including repairs, adjustments, and replacements of fire door components such as hinges, seals, locks, and closures.
- Ensure all fire doors meet relevant fire safety standards and building codes through detailed assessments and documentation.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to carry out repairs efficiently.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate remedial work during ongoing projects or building refurbishments.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings related to fire door assemblies for accurate repairs and installations.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, remedial actions performed, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist in the installation of new fire doors when required, ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
- Support other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plastering, or construction painting as needed during remedial projects.
Experience
- Proven experience working with fire door systems in construction or maintenance environments.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards related to fire-rated doors.
- Hands-on experience with roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, welding, fabrication, masonry or carpentry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings relevant to door assemblies and remedial works.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively across various trades.
- Construction experience that includes working on large-scale projects or building refurbishments is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow detailed instructions accurately.
