Archipelago Bakery are looking for a part-time enthusiastic, keen, passionate, talented, competent cook/chef (as well as a bit of baking - traybakes/cookies/shortbread) needed to work in our friendly bakery. You must have lots of experience of making extremely tasty salads, soups as well as helping with some additional baking.
We are looking for someone to help out on two days a week which could be either Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday - whatever suits the candidate best. They would be required to make soups, salads and traybakes on these days and approx 5 - 6 hours each day (just two days)
We make fresh soups and salads every day and we need someone to help out on the weekend period. We need someone with skill, experience, ability to work by oneself and able to multitask. Needs to be clean and tidy as the space is quite small. Needs to be able to order veg if needed and be organised for the next day as well as co-ordinate with our Head Chef who works Tuesday to Friday. Able to check stock as well as use up what's there in terms of veg. You need to be very hands-on, hard-working, organised, reliable and trustworthy. You will also be responsible for helping out with some baking such as traybakes, cookies, shortbread etc but all recipes are supplied and training is given. A love of baking would help though!
It's a lovely environment to work in and we are a friendly, small team with lovely customers. We have a very good reputation for our vegan and veggie food and for our salads and soups and specials and so looking for someone to continue with this. We have regulars who come every day for our soup so you need to be able to a good soup maker!
It's a nice environment and would suit someone who wants to work approx 5-6 hours on either of the following two days - Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon - depending on your preference). Someone who can help out front of house as well - serving/making coffee etc - would be helpful but not essential. It's a great job if you are really passionate about cooking and food and want a bit of extra part-time work and being in an environment where we are passionate about food. It would really suit someone that enjoys cooking (Ottolenghi, Peter Gordon, Hugh F-W, Georgina Hayden, Meera Sodha influence etc) and would like some extra work pursuing their passion part-time. Or someone looking to ease themselves back into work after maternity leave or someone a bit older looking to wind down from full-time work.
