Are you an experienced research and innovation professional who can develop funding opportunities, inspire collaboration and help turn ambitious ideas into successful outcomes?
As Funding and Award Manager, you will support the University’s research, innovation and business development ambitions. Working with academic leaders and colleagues across BDRI, you will help grow research and innovation income, strengthen funding success and lead a team providing high-quality pre- and post-award support.
As Funding and Award Manager you can expect to be involved in:
- Providing professional leadership and governance of research and innovation activities.
- Identifying funding opportunities and providing expert advice and support for research and innovation funding proposals.
- Managing pre- and post-award processes to support University and School Research and Innovation strategies and targets.
- Leading and managing a BDRI Funding and Award team to deliver consistent, high-quality support.
What will you bring to the role?
- Knowledge of the higher education sector and the key challenges facing research and innovation in an HE environment, specifically the need for Universities to diversity their activity and income streams.
- A proven track record of income generation and establishing new partnerships.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to inspire collaborative working.
- Experience of successfully managing and developing motivated, high-performing teams.
