We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Orthopaedic Shoemaker to join our team. We welcome applications from individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This job role is suitable for school leavers, career changers, and those looking to retrain in a skilled healthcare trade that combines craftsmanship, biomechanics, and patient care.
You will train under experienced Orthopaedic shoemakers to design, manufacture, and adapt custom footwear that improve mobility and quality of life.
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine interest in craftsmanship and healthcare
- Enjoyment of hands-on work such as craft, woodwork, metalwork, or similar practical activities
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Technical curiosity and willingness to learn
- Empathy and strong communication skills
- Reliable, patient, and team-oriented attitude
No prior experience is required — just motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning a meaningful and highly skilled trade.
What You’ll Learn
- Crafting and modifying custom Orthopaedic shoes and insoles
- Working with materials such as leather, plastics, and modern composites
- Understanding foot anatomy, gait analysis, and biomechanics
- Using traditional tools as well as modern machinery and CAD technology
