On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Benefits Lead (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (travel required to London or Bristol on an ad-hoc basis).

Job summary

Corporate Services Modernisation (CSM) programme, a multi-year, digitally enabled transformation programme designed to overhaul and enhance the Ministry of Defence’s corporate services - which includes HR, Finance, and Commercial functions. This is one of the largest Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP transformation programmes.
This role sits within Def HRS, the HR Function’s digital transformation programme, which is critical to Defence’s ability to enhance military capability, improve the user experience and inform better decision-making. This programme is a key priority for Ministers and was recently published as a critical priority in the Strategic Defence Review.
Job description
The Benefits Lead will own and drive the realisation of measurable benefits from the programme, ensuring the transformation delivers tangible value to Defence and the taxpayer. This role will lead the benefits management strategy, define baselines and targets, and embed benefits tracking and reporting throughout delivery and into business-as-usual.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Essential:
- Proven track record in benefits management for major transformation programmes, ideally in a public sector, Defence, or large-scale corporate services context.
- Strong knowledge of benefits frameworks (HMT Green Book, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), or equivalent).
- Experience of ERP / HCM transformation (e.g. Oracle Fusion, SAP) and the associated business change.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence at SCS and 2-star / 3-star level.
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Strong understanding of corporate services functions (HR, Finance, Commercial, etc.) and their operating models.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of MoD governance structures, Portfolio Office processes, and Defence business operations.
- APMG or MSP Benefits Management Practitioner certification.
- Experience in cross-organisational change in a federated environment.
- Understanding of complex, secure operating environments.
