Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage food production processes, including portion control, presentation, and timely delivery of meals.
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations and cleanliness standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary techniques.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient serving and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste through effective stock management.
- Train new team members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings.
- Demonstrable skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety compliance.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and current food trends.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Leadership qualities with the capacity to oversee kitchen operations confidently.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality sectors is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for food service and customer satisfaction.
Pay: £12.50-£14.00 per hour
