Set on the banks of the River Trent beside a 12th-century mill, The Priest House Hotel is one of Derbyshire's most distinctive countryside hotels. Combining characterful accommodation, brasserie, weddings, events and corporate business, we're looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead the hotel into its next exciting chapter.

About the Role
As General Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring every department delivers exceptional service whilst achieving strong commercial results.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will:
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing management team.
- Drive revenue growth across bedrooms, weddings, meetings, events, food and beverage.
- Deliver outstanding guest satisfaction and reputation management.
- Ensure consistently high operational and brand standards.
- Manage budgets, payroll, forecasting and profitability.
- Recruit, coach and retain talented team members.
- Identify new commercial opportunities within the local market.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers and the community.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, food safety and all statutory requirements.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- An experienced hotel, hospitality or multi-department operational leader.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Commercially minded with a proven track record of improving sales and profitability.
- A confident people manager who enjoys coaching and developing teams.
- Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills.
- Hands-on and visible within the operation.
- Passionate about food, drink and hospitality.
- Experienced in weddings, events and accommodation operations (desirable).
- Able to build a positive culture where both guests and colleagues thrive.
