We are looking for a skilled food professional with excellent knife skills to join our busy retail and wholesale seafood business. Whether you're an experienced fishmonger or chef, you'll use your preparation skills while delivering outstanding customer service and helping maintain the highest standards of quality.

- We are looking for an experienced fishmonger/chef to join our growing team to be part of our exciting business growth.

Duties to include:
- Fish preparation - scaling, gutting and filleting to customer requirements, whether retail or wholesale.
- Arranging outstanding and eye catching fish counters.
- Understand and be able to explain sources of fish and seafood.
- Speaking with customers to fully understand and advise them the best way to prepare, cook and store their fish.
- Support wholesale order preparation.
- Minimise waste through efficient preparation.
- Good understanding of Safer Food, Better Business principles or similar.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Help train other staff in fishmongery/catering skills.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and quality work whilst upholding our brand values.
Required skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience working with fish and shellfish in a kitchen/fishmonger environment.
- Demonstrate precise knife skills and willingness to learn more.
- Extensive knowledge of fish prep, use, cooking and storage.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 and understanding of Safer Food Better Business or equivalent.
- Ability to work off own initiative and as part of a wider team.
- Ability to talk to customers confidently about their requirements in a polite manner at all times.
- Promoting business in a positive manner at all times
- Confidence with using IT systems to support business processes.

Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
