Personal Assistant Required – Supporting a Young Boy
Location: Morpeth Area
Rate of Pay: £14.67 per hour
- Hours: 8 hours per week (School Holidays – flexible across 7 days)
About the Role
We are looking for a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support a lovely 5-year-old boy with Autism and a learning disability.
He is non-verbal and communicates using symbols and pictures ️️. At times, he can experience frustration, anxiety, and difficulties with concentration, so patience and understanding are essential.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Support with personal care
✅ Assist with social and leisure activities
✅ Help with meal preparation ️
✅ Provide constant supervision to ensure safety
- ️ The child has no danger awareness, so close supervision is always required.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✔️ Experience or understanding of Autism
✔️ Knowledge of challenging behaviour ✅
✔️ A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
✔️ Awareness of safeguarding ️
Working Pattern
Flexible support during school holidays:
️ Monday–Saturday: Morning & Afternoon availability
️ Sunday: Morning only
