Job Description
To deliver an exceptional evening housekeeping service, ensuring guest rooms, corridors and relevant service areas are maintained to high standards. To complete the turndown service efficiently, within the required timeframes and in accordance with individual guest preferences. To maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas to support a consistently outstanding five-star environment and seamless guest experience.
To work closely with the Evening and Night Team to ensure all required supplies and amenities are delivered to guest rooms, anticipating guest needs and maximising guest satisfaction through attentive and intuitive service.
Responsibilities
- Complete turndown service within the required timeframe and in accordance with individual guest preferences.
- Provide support to the morning housekeeping team when required, including assistance with cleaning duties.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and kept in good working condition.
- Immediately report any loss or damage involving linen, furniture, fixtures, fittings or equipment to the Supervisor.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and chemicals on all surfaces, in accordance with established standards and training.
- Ensure service areas are clean, organised and fully always stocked with the required products and supplies.
- Promptly report any maintenance concerns, including damaged equipment, faulty lights or other defects, to the Supervisor or Department Manager for appropriate action.
- Report any lost property discovered in guest rooms and strictly follow the hotel's Lost and Found procedures.
- Carry out all duties with care, professionalism and consideration for guests, with the aim of consistently exceeding expectations.
- Respect guest privacy at all times by maintaining a quiet and discreet presence in corridors, guest areas and service areas.
- Attend and actively participate in daily departmental line-up meetings.
- Take on additional responsibilities when the Line Manager or Senior Employee is unavailable.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required, including working in another department, area or restaurant according to the operational needs of the business.
Health and Safety
- Identify and immediately report any actual or potential health and safety hazards and take appropriate action where possible.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of departmental fire, emergency and bomb procedures and always follow them.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, colleagues and property by complying with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, while remaining alert to potential hazards and taking appropriate preventative measures.
- Promote and maintain a strong awareness of health and safety standards in all duties, tasks and activities carried out within the department.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional cleaning and guest service, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to consistently delivering outstanding service and guest experiences.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally as part of a team.
- Professional appearance, presentation and grooming at all times.
- Previous experience of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards and five star luxury environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a consistently high standard of presentation.
- Flexibility and willingness to support a 24-hour operational environment when required.
- Previous experience within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with LQA, Forbes Five-Star or equivalent luxury service standards.
