PMUK is looking for a Senior Manager to combine strategic financial leadership with overall accountability for the effective day-to-day operation of the Finance function, ensuring both long-term business success and operational excellence. The successful candidate will provide executive oversight of all core finance operations, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of month-end and year-end reporting, financial accounting, treasury management, tax compliance, audit activities, forecasting and statutory reporting requirements, whilst ensuring operational excellence across the Finance function through effective controls, governance and resource management.
The Finance Senior Manager is a key member of the PMUK leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and commercial insight to support sustainable business growth, operational excellence and achievement of organisational objectives. Working closely with the Finance Director, Managing Director and wider leadership team, the role drives financial strategy, business performance, governance and organisational effectiveness across PMUK. The postholder acts as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, shaping strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis, risk management, business planning and performance management.
The role provides leadership for the Finance function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services, a strong controls environment, continuous improvement and the development of a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the evolving needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Performance
- A senior member of the PMUK leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of business strategy and long-term organisational objectives.
- Partner with the Finance Director and Executive Leadership Team to drive sustainable growth, profitability and organisational performance.
- Provide strategic financial leadership, challenge and insight to support key business decisions, investment priorities and commercial opportunities.
- Lead the development of financial strategies that align with corporate objectives and support future business growth.
- Shape and influence organisational decision-making through the provision of high-quality analysis, forecasting and business intelligence.
- Drive a culture of value creation, accountability and performance management across PMUK.
- Lead financial evaluation of strategic projects, acquisitions, capital investments, operational initiatives and business transformation programmes.
- Support the identification and execution of opportunities for business improvement, operational efficiency and cost optimisation.
Financial Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure the organisation maintains a strong financial control environment, effective governance arrangements and compliance with all statutory, regulatory and Group requirements.
- Provide executive oversight of financial risk management, cash flow, working capital and organisational financial resilience.
- Act as a key adviser on financial, commercial and operational risks facing the business.
- Ensure effective management of internal and external audit activities and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Lead the continuous review and enhancement of financial policies, systems, processes and controls.
- Support the Board and Finance Director in maintaining effective governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Financial Planning & Performance
- Lead the annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across PMUK.
- Establish robust KPI frameworks that provide meaningful insight into business performance and strategic objectives.
- Monitor organisational performance against budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators.
- Provide forward-looking financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency and return on investment.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources to support organisational priorities and business growth plans.
Leadership & Organisational Development
- Provide inspirational leadership to the Finance function, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Develop organisational capability through effective succession planning, talent development and leadership coaching.
- Lead and develop Finance Team Leaders and senior finance professionals, ensuring appropriate resource planning and capability development.
- Promote collaborative working across departments, positioning Finance as a trusted strategic business partner.
- Champion change initiatives and support organisational transformation programmes.
Stakeholder Management & Executive Influence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, Board members, Group functions, external auditors, regulators and key business stakeholders.
- Present financial performance, risks and opportunities clearly and effectively to executive and Board-level audiences.
- Influence decision-making through credible challenge, commercial acumen and evidence-based recommendations.
- Represent Finance in senior leadership forums and cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Significant post-qualification experience within a senior financial leadership position.
- Experience operating as part of a senior leadership or executive management team.
- Demonstrable experience influencing strategic business decisions through financial and commercial insight.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Experience leading organisational planning, budgeting and business performance processes.
- Proven ability to lead organisational change, transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic, operational and financial priorities.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, including Board-level engagement.
- Strong people leadership capabilities with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and plan / prioritise workload.

- Proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to travel as required.

Working Hours: 07:45 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday, 07:45 – 13:30 Friday.
