Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Multi Skilled Floor Layer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of flooring surfaces across commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces by delivering high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Duties
- Install a wide range of flooring materials including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, and tiles according to project specifications and schematics
- Prepare subfloors by leveling, cleaning, and applying necessary adhesives or primers to ensure optimal installation conditions
- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring tapes to accurately cut and fit flooring components
- Operate power tools including saws, drills, sanders, and grinders safely and efficiently to complete installations
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise flooring layouts
- Perform construction painting tasks as needed to prepare surfaces before flooring installation or finish work
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution and quality standards are met
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on flooring installation or related trades
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques relevant to flooring preparation and finishing
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions accurately
- Experience with construction painting for surface preparation or finishing touches
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to ensure precise measurements and cuts
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards
