Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1, KS2, and 11+ Tutor to inspire and support students in their academic journey. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of children preparing for primary school assessments and secondary school entrance exams. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their educational goals in a supportive environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic tutoring sessions focused on Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7), Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11), and 11+ entrance exam preparation
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement to tailor lesson plans accordingly
- Use effective teaching methods to explain concepts clearly and motivate students to excel
- Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to parents or guardians
- Create engaging learning materials that cater to diverse learning styles and needs
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching strategies as required
- Maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere that fosters confidence and enthusiasm for learning
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching children across KS1, KS2, or 11+ exam preparation
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and entrance exam requirements
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs, including those with special educational requirements
- Passion for education and a genuine desire to support young learners’ development
- Organized, reliable, and committed to providing high-quality tutoring sessions
- QTS desirable
- Prior experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings is highly desirable
