Millard’s Studio is looking for an experienced, highly organised Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination and successful delivery of our construction projects.
This is not a general administration position. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of seven years’ experience working within the construction industry and a strong understanding of construction details, drawings, materials, sequencing and how sites operate.
You’ll work closely alongside our Project Manager, becoming their trusted right hand and helping coordinate our clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. You’ll take ownership of actions, follow decisions through and ensure every project continues moving efficiently.
Your responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day management of multiple live construction projects
- Preparing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries
- Reading and understanding construction drawings and technical details
- Ensuring site teams have the correct information, specifications and instructions
- Liaising confidently and professionally with clients throughout their projects
- Organising site meetings, recording actions and ensuring they are completed
- Monitoring progress and identifying potential delays or problems early
- Assisting with project costs, variations, client selections and documentation
- Helping resolve practical construction and scheduling issues
- Visiting sites to monitor progress and support the delivery team
- Providing administrative and operational support across every stage of a project
What we’re looking for
- A minimum of seven years’ experience within the construction industry
- A strong understanding of construction methods, technical details and project sequencing
- The ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Previous experience in project coordination, construction management or a similar role
- Exceptional organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive approach—you identify what needs doing and follow it through
- Confidence communicating with clients, trades, consultants and suppliers
- The ability to remain calm, practical and decisive under pressure
- Strong administrative and digital skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
This position could suit an experienced Construction Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, Contracts Administrator or Site Manager looking to move into a more project-focused coordination role.

Pay: £25,420.00-£36,540.00 per year
