We are recruiting for a Referrals Domestic Abuse Practitioner on a 12th month fixed term contract to join our busy accommodation team.
Our work is all about supporting individuals who have experienced, or are experiencing domestic abuse. We understand the power that simply believing, and offering a non-judgmental, trauma-informed response, can have. We all work together in the shared belief that every single person has the right to live their life free from domestic abuse and our practitioners work tirelessly to support and advocate for our clients to help them achieve this.
This is a great opportunity for an individual who is committed to helping survivors break the cycle of domestic abuse and support their recovery. This role is a key part of our service, providing that all important first contact with new clients and referrers, online, and via the telephone.

Purpose of the role
You will make a meaningful contribution to the accommodation team by managing new referrals to the accommodation service online and by telephone.
You will complete risk assessments and safety planning, ensuring clients and professionals receive timely, effective advice and support throughout the accommodation application process.
You will be a vital first point of contact, providing a high-quality frontline telephone service for victims of domestic abuse and the professionals supporting them.
You will build strong working relationships as a key accommodation team contact for the Next Chapter duty team, liaising with colleagues to support effective and consistent service delivery across all sites.

Pay: £26,821.00-£28,250.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Colchester, Essex: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- supporting vulnerable people affected by trauma: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
