We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team at Wild Things Play Project as Cafe Barista / Play Crew, in part time roles. It's fair to say there's more to this role than just making coffee!
One role is for a day a week (min 7 hours), the other for 2 days a week (min 14 hours), but these hours could flex up depending on the weather / time of year.
Wild Things Play Project is an exciting indoor play centre and cafe located in The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol.
We are looking for a new teammate who can help run the centre. As a small team, everyone does everything; running reception, making excellent coffees in the cafe, running the workshops (including story telling and singing groups) and hosting the kids' parties.
Requirements for Play Crew
- Above all else, we are looking for people who are excellent with both children and their parents, who have a proven track record in customer-facing roles and a demonstrable desire in offering excellent support for children’s play.
- Excellent barista skills
- Confident lone working (on quiet days, the centre only requires one member of staff to run)
· Outgoing and bubbly, with a playful streak
- Excellent with kids
- Superb customer service skills
- Self-motivated, and able to work without direction.
· Qualifications in childcare are beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with children in general is highly beneficial - this can be your own, siblings, nieces and nephews etc
· A large part of this role will include the running of our onsite café. If you have experience working in cafes or in other customer-facing roles, it will be beneficial.
· Qualifications in food hygiene, first aid and other relevant training is beneficial. (training in these areas also offered).
· Experience in leading workshops (especially with children) is beneficial.

Responsibilities for Play Crew
- Running the cafe - making barista-style coffee and tea (training offered)
- Keeping cafe well stocked with cakes and pastries
- Running reception - checking in / out children to the centre and using our till/booking system
- Ensuring centre is clean and tidy at all times
· Running workshops (full training given), parties, story and singing circles
· Handling any customer complaints / issues
· Insuring workshop materials are available at all times
· Support social media team with daily photos to use as marketing material
· The centre is open 7 days a week, so you will be required to work on weekends and holidays, as the rota dictates.
· We are looking for part time staff currently, but there is scope to scale up hours over time, specifically during school holidays.
