Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The Counter Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have a positive experience and leave satisfied.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers at the counter, taking orders accurately and efficiently
- Assist with food preparation and presentation in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and utensils
- Handle cash transactions and operate point-of-sale systems with basic maths skills
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Restock supplies as needed and assist in kitchen tasks when required
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Experience in food preparation, serving, or kitchen work is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and order calculations
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Pay: £12.71 per hour
