Job Description
Vault Couture is looking for a reliable, experienced and hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee our Aylesbury warehouse operations.
This is a varied role combining warehouse management, forklift operation, driving and logistics coordination. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Aylesbury facility while also working closely with our wider operations team.
The role is primarily based in Aylesbury, with regular travel to our Acton, London facility. A company van will be provided for business travel.
This position would suit someone with previous warehouse or logistics management experience who is comfortable working independently, managing a small team and remaining hands-on with daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Aylesbury warehouse.
- Take ownership of daily operational issues and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Operate a forklift for loading, unloading and warehouse movements.
- Manage the safe storage and movement of client items within the facility.
- Coordinate daily collections, deliveries, warehouse movements and workload priorities.
- Drive company vans of up to 3.5 tonnes between Aylesbury, Acton and client locations.
- Regularly travel between Aylesbury and our Acton facility as required.
- Support deliveries and collections throughout London and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload household, clothing and other client items safely and carefully.
- Ensure valuable client items are correctly protected, secured and handled.
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records using the company's Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Supervise and support warehouse team members when required.
- Help train staff and maintain consistent operational standards.
- Identify and implement practical improvements to warehouse organisation, workflow and efficiency.
- Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Carry out routine vehicle and forklift safety checks.
- Ensure warehouse equipment and facilities are kept safe and operational.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.
- Help ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding operational issues, priorities and workloads.
- Provide a professional and polite service when attending client properties.
- Be flexible and willing to assist with other operational duties when required.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confident and experienced driving commercial vans up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Previous warehouse, logistics or similar operational experience.
- Forklift licence/certification and confidence operating a forklift.
- Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within warehouse, logistics, removals, storage or a similar environment.
- Able to work independently and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a site.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach to improving processes.
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
- Comfortable working within a small team and taking the lead when required.
- Physically capable of carrying out warehouse and delivery duties.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Aylesbury.
- Willing and able to regularly travel between Aylesbury and Acton, London.
Desirable
- HGV, C1 or other commercial vehicle licence.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar inventory system.
- Previous experience managing a small warehouse or logistics team.
- Experience within removals, household storage, high-value goods or private client logistics.
- London driving experience.
- Russian or another Slavic language would be advantageous when communicating with some members of our existing team.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting salary: £35,000 per year
