Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Assist in food production and ensure timely delivery of meals during service hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste
- Support the training of new team members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative ideas and seasonal specials
- Serve food efficiently during busy periods, ensuring excellent customer service
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is advantageous for senior roles but not essential for entry-level positions
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work under pressure during peak hours while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is highly valued
