We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team on our Backshift (4pm to midnight Sunday to Thursday). Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automation systems to ensure smooth operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment using technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system knowledge.
- Utilise programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose issues and implement solutions for automated processes.
- Conduct welding and mechanical repairs as needed, ensuring safety standards are strictly followed.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify faults and execute effective repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and system updates for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules that minimise production disruptions.
- Lead safety audits and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations across all maintenance activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal requests for technical support or repairs.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is essential for diagnosing diverse equipment issues.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical schematics is required.
- Demonstrated welding skills and mechanical repair capabilities are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly document procedures and communicate technical information effectively.
