About Us
Glideline is an established manufacturer of aluminium doors and windows, and we are looking for an experienced Machinist / CNC Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team.
The role will involve cutting aluminium profiles accurately and efficiently using our Elumatec saws/CNC machinery, working from production drawings and cutting lists to prepare profiles for fabrication.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Operating CNC/sawing machinery to cut aluminium profiles to precise measurements.
- Reading and working from technical and manufacturing drawings.
- Checking dimensions, quantities and cutting requirements before production.
- Identifying errors or discrepancies in drawings, measurements or cutting lists and raising them before work proceeds.
- Ensuring all cut profiles meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Carrying out routine checks and maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Working efficiently to meet production requirements and deadlines.
- Working as part of the wider manufacturing team to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule.
About You
We are looking for someone who is experienced, practical and switched on.
You should be able to work independently, use your initiative and, importantly, think about what you are doing rather than simply follow instructions.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a machining, CNC, saw operation or aluminium manufacturing environment.
- Be confident reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Have a good eye for detail and take pride in accurate work.
- Be comfortable checking measurements and specifications before cutting.
- Be able to spot potential mistakes or inconsistencies in drawings and cutting information.
- Have a sensible, methodical approach to their work.
- Be reliable, organised and safety-conscious.
- Be able to work at a good pace without compromising accuracy.
Experience with Elumatec machinery would be an advantage, although relevant CNC/sawing experience will also be considered.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role where accuracy and common sense are just as important as operating the machinery.
