Job Summary
General Manager, New QSR Concept London
We’re recruiting for a genuinely exciting new QSR concept launching in London, backed by an ambitious team and working in partnership with one of the world’s most recognised consumer brands.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to run a restaurant.
We’re looking for a General Manager who wants to build a business.
Someone commercially sharp, operationally strong and comfortable taking ownership. You’ll be joining at the beginning, helping establish the culture, build the team, develop the operation and turn a new opening into a high-performing London business.
The opportunity
As General Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the site, but your influence will go much further than that.
You’ll work closely with the operators and senior team, while also developing strong relationships with stakeholders from one of the world’s best-known brands.
You’ll be expected to think like an operator, not just a GM
That means understanding the numbers, challenging where things could be better, spotting commercial opportunities and constantly looking at how we improve the guest experience, team performance and profitability.
This is a high-volume QSR site, so pace matters. But we’re not interested in volume at the expense of standards or culture.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have:
- A strong track record as a General Manager, Area Manager or senior operations leader within QSR, fast casual or another high-volume hospitality business
- At least four years of solid GM or operational leadership experience
- Experience managing genuinely high-volume, high-transaction businesses
- Strong commercial understanding across sales, labour, COGS, margins, productivity and P&L performance
- A proven ability to recruit, develop and retain great teams
- Experience successfully opening restaurants or growing new businesses would be a major advantage
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, suppliers and major commercial partners
- A strong understanding of operational standards, food safety, compliance and guest experience
- The ability to use data and KPIs to make better operational decisions
The person
The attitude is just as important as the CV.
We want someone entrepreneurial.
Someone who sees an opportunity and asks, “How do we make this work?” rather than waiting for somebody else to solve it.
You’ll be comfortable operating in an operator-led environment where decisions can happen quickly and where good ideas are encouraged, regardless of where they come from.
You should be:
- Commercially hungry without losing sight of the guest
- Hands-on and visible with your team
- Comfortable making decisions and taking accountability
- Naturally curious about how the business could perform better
- Resilient and calm when the restaurant gets busy
- Obsessed with standards
- Able to build relationships at every level
- Comfortable challenging constructively when something doesn’t make commercial or operational sense
- Someone who genuinely enjoys developing people
- Excited by building something rather than inheriting a finished operation
Culture matters
We want to create a business where people enjoy coming to work, where standards are high but egos are low, and where everyone understands that great hospitality comes from great teams.
The General Manager will play a huge part in setting that tone.
You’ll help establish the behaviours, expectations and leadership culture from day one, so we’re looking for someone who leads from the front and earns the respect of their team rather than simply relying on their job title.
This role will suit somebody who has perhaps worked within larger QSR or hospitality businesses but now wants the opportunity to have more influence, more ownership and a genuine voice in how a new brand develops.
Why join?
Because you’ll be getting involved at the start.
You’ll have the opportunity to help shape a new London concept, build the opening team, influence how the operation develops and work alongside an entrepreneurial leadership team with ambitious plans for the business.
There’s also the opportunity to build relationships with one of the world’s most recognised brands and be part of something with the potential to grow well beyond its first location.
If you’re a commercially driven restaurant operator who loves building teams, driving sales and creating great businesses rather than simply managing shifts, we’d like to hear from you.
