Kitchen Manager / Head Chef – Bristol

We’re recruiting a Kitchen Manager / Head Chef for a busy, high-volume independent fast-food restaurant in Bristol.
This is a process-led kitchen with a strong focus on speed, consistency and quality. We’re looking for an excellent kitchen operator and people leader, rather than someone whose main focus is menu development or culinary creativity.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for:
- Leading the kitchen through busy, high-volume services
- Recruiting, training and developing the kitchen team
- Planning prep and ensuring every station is ready for service
- Kitchen rotas, labour management and team deployment
- Maintaining strong speeds of service without compromising quality
- Ordering, stock control, food cost and waste management
- Food hygiene, allergens, health & safety and kitchen cleanliness
- Ensuring recipes, portions and cooking processes are followed consistently
- Improving kitchen organisation, efficiency and profitability
- Working closely with the General Manager to deliver a consistently strong operation
About You
We’re looking for someone with experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Assistant Kitchen Manager within a busy restaurant environment.
You’ll be:
- Calm and organised under pressure
- A hands-on leader who leads from the front
- Strong at training and developing people
- Commercially aware, with experience of stock, food cost, waste and labour
- Highly disciplined around food safety and kitchen standards
- Comfortable working within clear recipes, systems and processes
- Experienced in running demanding, high-volume services
Experience within fast food, QSR, fast-casual, casual dining or another high-volume kitchen environment would be particularly relevant.
