Job Description:
Role: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Location: London, Ludgate Hill
Working arrangement: Hybrid, 2 office days per week
We are looking for a commercially minded and driven Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our high-performing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you will play a key role in leading financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting and business partnering activities. You'll work closely with senior leaders across the organisation, providing meaningful insight and challenge that supports business performance and drives informed decision-making.
This role is particularly suited to an individual with FP&A experience within long-term project, engineering, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing or similar environments, where understanding the relationship between profit, balance sheet performance and cash flow is critical.
Some key responsibilities
Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes across the business.
Deliver high-quality management reporting, analysis and insight to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
Drive the preparation and analysis of short and long-term cash flow forecasts, with a strong focus on both direct and indirect cash flow methodologies.
Own the continuous enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools and FP&A processes.
Analyse financial performance, identifying risks, opportunities and actions to improve business outcomes.
Partner with finance and operational teams globally to challenge assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
Lead, coach and support FP&A team members while acting as a trusted deputy to the Head of FP&A when required.
Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and functions to deliver consistent, insightful financial information.
Partner with the business to manage cost centres and actively partake in month end closing
About you
You are an experienced FP&A professional who thrives in a complex, global environment. You enjoy solving problems, challenging the status quo and using your initiative to identify opportunities for improvement.
You'll bring:
A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Experience being a trusted Finance Business Partner to stakeholders.
Significant FP&A experience, ideally gained within long-term project-based industries such as rail, infrastructure, engineering, construction, manufacturing or similar sectors.
Strong understanding of direct and indirect cash flow preparation, forecasting and analysis.
Excellent knowledge of the relationship between cash flow, working capital, balance sheet and profit & loss performance.
Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills with strong Excel capability.
The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality output in a changing environment.
Experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decision-making through financial insight.
Experience operating within a global, matrix organisation, collaborating effectively across multiple stakeholders, functions and geographies.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information for both finance and non-finance audiences.
