Duties
- Monitor store premises using surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect suspicious activities and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, stockrooms, entrances, exits, and parking areas to deter theft and maintain order.
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer behavior and identifying potential theft or vandalism incidents.
- Respond promptly to security alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, coordinating with local emergency services when necessary.
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including providing first aid when needed.
- Maintain detailed incident reports, surveillance logs, and security records accurately for future reference.
- Educate staff on security procedures and best practices to foster a culture of safety within the store.
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems to monitor multiple areas simultaneously.
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques to identify and prevent theft or damage effectively.
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations, including administering basic first aid if required.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and inspections.
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and collaborating with team members.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while maintaining alertness throughout shifts.
