Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Taper and Jointer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing precise finishing work on various building projects, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Execute taping, jointing, and finishing of drywall surfaces to achieve smooth, seamless walls and ceilings.
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling gaps, and applying primer as necessary.
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and knives to apply plaster or joint compound accurately.
- Operate power tools including drills, sanders, and mixers safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to ensure precise application of finishes.
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, and masonry teams to coordinate project tasks.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations on-site at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction finishing roles such as taping, jointing, plastering, or carpentry is required.
- Experience working with schematics and technical drawings is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in building trades is essential.
- Previous exposure to working within a team on large-scale projects will be advantageous.
