Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roller Shutter Door Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing & servicing 3 phase and single phase roller shutter doors, rapid roll doors, fire rated, sectional doors, industrial insulated doors, personnel steel doors and automated doors across various commercial and industrial sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of construction skills, and contribute to the safety and functionality of our clients’ premises. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction-related trades and be comfortable working with various tools.
Responsibilities
- The role will focus predominately across the North West, and the work base is in Bickerstaffe
- Install, service, and repair roller shutter doors in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential faults or wear and tear, performing necessary maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or structural issues with existing roller shutter systems.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to complete tasks efficiently.
- Liaise with customers and team members to ensure project requirements are met within specified timeframes.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and repairs carried out for documentation purposes by completing Job Sheets.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all phases of installation and maintenance work.
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of door systems
- Ability to perform construction site assessments and work safely at heights or in confined spaces
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in diagnosing issues quickly
- Employment is subject to a basic DBS check, so the successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check
Skills
- Proven experience in construction trades is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and fabrication techniques.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively on-site.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail when diagnosing faults or defects.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and team members.
- IPAF scissor lift licence desirable
- CSCS
- Full UK clean Driving Licence necessary
Schedule
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, 40 hour working week. Although, you should have a flexible approach and be prepared to work overtime as and when required.
A company van and company mobile phone will be provided (Business use only)
Wage is negotiable depending on experience
Pay: £14.00-£20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
