We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Business Development Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin and develop a career in technical sales and business development within the pump engineering and building services industry.
Working alongside our experienced sales and engineering teams, you will receive training and support to develop your knowledge of our products, customers and markets. The role will involve supporting the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships and helping to develop new and existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Contact new and existing customers to promote Ritchie MacKenzie products and services.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide a high standard of customer service.
- Assist with the preparation of quotations, proposals and customer presentations.
- Follow up quotations and sales opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers, projects and new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity information within the company CRM system.
- Work closely with our internal sales, engineering and service teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.
- Develop a strong understanding of our pump systems, packaged solutions and associated products.
- Assist in achieving individual and company sales targets.
- Progressively take responsibility for developing and managing your own customer accounts and sales opportunities.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic and keen to develop a career in sales and business development.
- Confident communicating with customers by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- Professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Commercially aware and interested in developing new business.
- Organised and capable of managing multiple enquiries and opportunities.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Computer literate and comfortable working with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Previous experience with Salesforce or another CRM system would be advantageous but is not essential.
A qualification or background in Engineering, Business, Sales or Marketing would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Previous pump industry experience is not essential as full product and technical training will be provided.
