Quality Inspector – Laser Expertise

Salary: £13.00–£16.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Full-time - Starting on a 10am-6pm shift pattern
About the Role
Laser Expertise is looking for an experienced and reliable Quality Inspector to join our busy manufacturing team in Nottingham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting fabricated and manufactured components to ensure they meet customer drawings, specifications and required quality standards. This is a hands-on shop-floor role suited to someone with a good eye for detail and experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
This is a practical, hands-on role based within the production environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing and checking completed jobs ready for despatch, ensuring all components, paperwork and quality requirements are correct before goods leave site. This is not a purely office-based quality position.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out inspection of manufactured and fabricated components.
· Check parts against engineering drawings, tolerances and customer specifications.
· Use measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other inspection tools.
· Complete first-off, in-process and final inspections.
· Identify and report non-conforming products.
· Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
· Complete relevant inspection and quality documentation.
· Ensure measuring equipment is used correctly and maintained appropriately.
· Support continuous improvement and help maintain high quality standards across the site.
· Follow all company Health & Safety and quality procedures.
- Final inspection of completed components prior to despatch.
- Checking jobs are complete and ready to leave site.
- Ensuring the correct quantities, paperwork and quality documentation are with each job.
- Working closely with production and despatch teams to resolve any issues before goods are released.
- Carrying out inspection duties on the shopfloor using appropriate measuring equipment.
Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in a Quality Inspector, Engineering Inspector or similar manufacturing role.
· Ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings.
· Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
· Good understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Good communication skills and the confidence to raise quality concerns.
· Experience within laser cutting, sheet metal, fabrication, welding or precision engineering would be advantageous.
