MOBILE RECYCLING OPERATIVES – Vehicle Provided - MUST HOLD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE FOR 2 YEARS
2 x Full Time Vacancies covering Household Recycling Centres throughout Dorset
We are looking for two new staff members to join our existing team of five wonderful Mobile Recycling Operatives. The role is not based at any one site, and we are looking for someone to assist us covering for holidays/sickness across 10 household recycling/waste management centres, and one material recycling centre all located in Dorset.
The sites we need to cover are Blandford, Bridport, Dorchester, Hybris (Crossways), Portland, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Swanage, Wareham, Weymouth, Wimborne
A rota of cover is provided on a monthly basis, but due to covering for absences this can change at short notice.
You will be required to advise and assist members of the public across the busy sites. Making sure materials are placed in the correct skips, liaising, interacting and engaging with members of the public, sorting waste/recyclables and keeping the sites clean and tidy. A booking system has also recently been introduced which means a tablet is provided to site staff to check permits, DIY bookings and manage the booking in system.
Flexibility is the key, although our end goal is the same on every site – to recycle as much as possible, to achieve high levels of customer service levels, and to provide sites that customers enjoy and feel safe coming to. Every site is run slightly differently by their managers.
This outdoor work can be physically demanding and requires candidates who are hardworking team players.
Full training will be provided, and you will be required to work weekends.
The working week is on a rota basis, working five days out of seven including weekend work as the sites are fully operational seven days a week. The ability to work overtime is also appreciated.

8.00 am to 16.30 pm October to March.
