The role
You own a business unit, not a checklist. Take our current major-infrastructure contracts, deliver them to a standard nobody else in the market can match, then grow them — into adjacent contracts, then new projects and jurisdictions. You don't build the products; you work the clients, scope the work, direct the technical team, and own the outcome. Direct line to the CEO.
What you'll do
Work in the room with the hardest environments in the industry — tunnelling, heavy civils, complex lifts — inside joint ventures and agency structures where the only leverage is credibility. Get parties who don't agree to agree on how the work is actually done. Author and rework operating procedures. Direct our team to turn them into avatar-guided SOPs, published for micro-credentialing and behaviour analytics. Capture the metrics that make the return impossible to argue with. Scale the safety and human performance department in the UK.
What you bring
10+ years in safety leadership on major infrastructure. Client-side experience moving behaviour without direct authority. Facilitation skill — you can hold a room of people who disagree and leave with a procedure they'll actually follow. A commercial head: you see safety as a function that reduces risk and grows revenue, not a cost centre.
And one thing that tells us you're the real article: you're part of the safety-director community. You go to the gatherings where safety and SHE directors from competing organisations sit in the same room. You could name three people who'll be there next time.
