Role Overview: We are seeking a reliable and professional Van Driver to join our delivery team.
Our evening delivery team are responsible for delivering freshly prepared meals and snacks from our central kitchen in Basildon and delivering them safely, efficiently, and on time to nurseries across the South of England. This role is essential in ensuring children receive nutritious meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
Location and Commitments:
· Production site based in Basildon
· 40 hours (4 days x 10 hours)
· 10-hour shifts
· Working days Monday-Thursday
Salary: £28,325 - £30,388 + 13% shift premium
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver freshly prepared meals to nurseries according to daily delivery schedules.
· Load and unload chilled and ambient food products safely and efficiently, delivering into nursery settings.
· Complete unattended evening deliveries, ensuring customer premises are left secure
· Ensure chilled and ambient food products are transported and delivered in accordance with food safety and temperature-control requirements.
· Use handheld devices and company software to confirm deliveries, record compliance checks, and obtain proof of delivery.
· Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the delivery vehicle.
· Follow all company policies, food safety procedures, and health and safety regulations.
· Build positive relationships with nursery staff and provide excellent customer service.
· Return empty totes Nursery Kitchen after deliveries.
Personal Specification:
Essential Skills:
· Full UK driving licence
· A minimum of 3 years delivery driving experience
· Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Strong customer service skills
· Confident driving in London and on longer distance routes
· Ability to follow planned delivery routes and work independently

Desirable:
Previous experience in food delivery or food production environment. (Full training will be provided)
Pay: £32,000.00-£34,388.00 per year
