At Octavius Regional Civil Engineering, our self-delivery model gives our commercial teams greater visibility, influence and ownership across the full project lifecycle. As we continue to grow our presence across the South West, we're looking to build our network of Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors interested in future opportunities within our highways business.
Working predominantly on highways and civil engineering schemes, you'll partner closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially successfully.
Due to the nature of the work, a strong site presence is important, and opportunities are likely to involve regular travel across the South West region.
We're interested in hearing from commercially-minded professionals at either Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level with experience in civil engineering, highways or a similar infrastructure environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within civil engineering, highways or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration
- Experience of cost control, forecasting, reporting and change management
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
- The ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and project teams
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently
- Experience within a self-delivery or principal contractor environment would be advantageous
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Membership of, or working towards membership of, RICS, CICES or a similar professional body is desirable
