Team Leader (Emergency Social Work Service)

Salary: £56,392 - £67,457 (+Shift increments)
Hours: 36 per week (30% percent of work time will be out of hour shifts)
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader to support our Emergency Social work Team that covers Edinburgh, East and Mid Lothian on an out of hours basis including Public Holidays.
The EHSCP has undergone a significant management re-structure which has aligned the delivery into service areas. We have been able to review the management arrangements that we require for the challenges of the future, and we recognise the need to provide our teams with additional leadership support and management capacity. This is an exciting time for the service as continue take forward a range of improvements designed to provide better outcomes for children, families and adults, but also create a positive place to work. Team Leaders will provide a pivotal role in ensuring that we are able to deliver the ambitions that we have and ensuring that teams are well supported in their roles.
You must both be a social worker registered with the SSSC with the necessary experience and skills to lead teams. Including, experience of children and families, adults and mental health statutory services.
You should have considerable experience of providing leadership, professional support and supervision to staff. Be flexible to the needs of the service that runs out of hours supporting children, families and adults in times of crisis working in partnership with police, NHS and social care agencies.
You should have a sound understanding of the principles and practice within social work from a children and families and an adults’ perspective.
You should demonstrate an ability to make complex, contentious decisions and communicate them effectively and sensitively, managing any conflict that may arise. As well as, working in a fast-paced busy environment.
An understanding of the governance and assurance mechanisms within which the EHSCP operates is desirable.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
