Job Purpose
To provide technical support to the Site Service department from the office, acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries, quotations and technical advice. Working closely with the Site Service Manager, this role will support customers, engineers and the sales team, helping to deliver an excellent customer experience while allowing the Site Service Manager to focus on department leadership and customer site visits.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Act as the first point of contact for technical enquiries from customers, sales team and Site Service Engineers.
- Produce accurate quotations for repairs, servicing, installations and refurbishment work.
- Review customer specifications and recommend suitable repair or replacement solutions.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to customers before, during and after service works.
- Support the Site Service Manager with technical assessments and quotation preparation.
- Liaise with Site Service Engineers regarding technical issues arising on customer sites.
- Work closely with the Site Service Coordinator to ensure quotations, parts and documentation are available for planned works.
- Assist with sourcing parts, components and subcontract services where required.
- Review engineering reports and convert remedial works into customer quotations and recommendations.
- Support the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) where required.
- Ensure all quotations and technical documentation meet company engineering standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of service and communication.
- Work with the Sales Team to identify service opportunities and provide technical support during customer discussions.
- Maintain accurate records within company systems.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve service delivery and departmental efficiency.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members where appropriate.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Site Service Manager.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Proven engineering experience within a mechanical or electrical environment.
- Strong knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes, pumps and associated equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and IT skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to produce accurate quotations.
